Nexus is a global movement of 2000+ young people from over 70 countries working to increase and improve philanthropy and impact investing by bridging communities of wealth and social entrepreneurship.

Founded in 2011, Nexus puts the hope and promise of young people on the world stage by bringing leaders together at Nexus Summits around the world for dialogue, education, and collaborative problem-solving.

Why now?

The world is at a crossroads. Social and environmental tensions are growing. Technology has made the global village increasingly inter-connected and inter-dependent. People everywhere are seeking transformative ideas, new resources and new leadership to ensure a peaceful and sustainable future. And, through Nexus, younger generations rise to meet the challenge.

It offers an index of countries’ performance based on the regulatory and tax conditions associated with philanthropy, and investigates the relationship between the presence of such infrastructure and the percentage of people donating money to charity according to the 2013 World Giving Index. The study was conducted by Nexus, McDermott Will & Emery LLP, and the Charities Aid Foundation. It was produced to support Nexus’s Global Campaign for a Culture of Philanthropy, which aims to enable and stimulate philanthropy around the world.
